The land Heiði in Skaftárhreppur, South Iceland, remains for sale. The land was first advertised on the market last December. Notably, a portion of the land includes the Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon, one of Iceland’s natural gems.
Magnús Leópoldsson, one of the real estate agents responsible for the sale, told Vísir that there has been considerable interest in the land. Magnús expects that a sale will take place this year, but emphasizes that such a large sale takes considerable time due to technical considerations. Financing, for example, can take a long time.He also mentioned that those who end up making the purchase will likely use the land for tourism purposes.
“It doesn’t happen quite as quickly as selling a little apartment in Reykjavík”, Magnús added.
