Five men were arrested in Reykjavík on Sunday, all suspected of having raped the same woman in an apartment in the western part of the city the night before. The men were sentenced to custody yesterday and the case is under investigation.
According to ruv.is, it is unclear how this crime was committed, but police believe the woman may have been drugged. Apparently the woman was invited to spend the night in the apartment.
Last week a man was sentenced to four years in prison for raping a girl in the Westman Islands and earlier this year two men were sentenced to five years in prison for raping a woman in an alley in downtown Reykjavík.
