Tomorrow is Sjómannadagurinn, or Fishermen’s Day, in Iceland. The event is celebrated in all fishing towns around the country. In Reykjavík, the Festival of the Sea runs all weekend.
On Laugavegur, the main shopping street, the annual Laugavegur Fish Soup Day is held today. At 1:30 pm, three shops and one restaurant—Kjólar og konfekt, Kokka, Gleraugnamiðstöðin and Íslenski barinn—will offer passersby a free taste of gourmet fish soup.
Accordion players will also be performing on Laugavegur, mbl.is reports.
