The association Icelandic Gaming Industry (IGI) is planning the first ever IGI Awards in the field of computer game design. The prize will be presented to the winner of a competition which everyone can enter for free. Registration ends late next month.
Throughout the competition, IGI will organize monthly presentations where participants can learn about the main aspects of game designing from the country’s foremost specialists in the gaming industry. Three presentations have already taken place, which can be watched on YouTube.
The grand prize is an HP Touchsmart IQ522sc multimedia computer with a touch screen from Opin kerfi, free enrollment to a course at Vidskiptasmidjan for the 2010 winter term at Klak Innovation Center on how to launch new businesses, free use of facilities at the Innovation Center Iceland for six months, books on managing and product development and support from IGI to create the winning game.
Those who are interested in participating in the competition can register at the website of IGI and join the IGIA10 group. The next presentation takes place on February 13.
