The 30-minute concert took place in one of the building’s smaller halls. Concert goers were provided with helmets, boots and coveralls for safety reasons, Fréttabladid reports. A glass mantle on the outside of the concert hall is currently being built.
The concert marked the beginning of the Icelandic Music Summer, a series of events organized by Samtónn, a joint copyright organization for authors, performers and producers.
A number of concerts will take place in the coming days and weeks, including a concert by Icelandic rock legend Megas and his backup band Senuthjófarnir in Hljómskálagardurinn public park on Friday.
