Fireworks Thrown at Car, Passenger Attacked

Live fireworks were thrown from a moving car at another car on the Reykjanesbraut highway in southwest Iceland shortly before midnight last night. The driver of the vehicle that was targeted tried to get away by turning down a trail but it proved a dead end.

The other driver pursued him before a man jumped out of the car, smashed the window at which the fireworks had been aimed and punched one of the passengers in the face before returning to the car and driving off, visir.is reports.

Those that were assaulted sought assistance from the police. They have a suspect and are looking for him. The man who suffered the blow to his face was planning to go to the ER.

The police are also investigating a recent case of a golf ball being shot in the face of a young girl by Elliðavatn lake on the outskirts of the capital, resulting in seven stitches to her lip, visir.is reports.

The girl was knocked to the ground by the blow and also suffered a bruised forehead.

Witnesses say that the men responsible, who are believed to be aged around twenty, jumped into their car and drove off when they saw what happened. They are being searched for by the police.
