Fire on Board

The fishing trawler Valur went up in flames last night, as it was moored in the harbour at Sandgerdi, southwest Iceland. The 169 tonne vessel reportedly caught on fire around 8 pm, and crews spent most of the night trying to put out the flames.

The Fire department said the boat is unsalvageable.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
