The Oscar-nominated Finnish director Aki Kaurismäki will visit Iceland later this month to attend the Reykjavík International Film Festival, September 27 to October 7.
Kaurismäki will hand out an award during the festival for outstanding artistic filming, Fréttabladid reports.
Kaurismäki received the Grand-Prix award at the Film Festival in Cannes for his 2002 film The Man Without a Past and was nominated for an Oscar, but refused to attend the ceremony in protest against the war in Iraq.
