Icelandic contestant Silvía Nótt placed 13th out of 23 contestants in the Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals last Thursday, Fréttabladid reveals today. Ten out of 23 countries passed through to the finals. Iceland received 62 points, 14 less than Macedonia, which placed 10th in the bid. The number of points given to each country is only revealed after the main contest is over, so as to ensure objectivity in voting. Finland won the contest on Saturday night.
Despite her elimination – or perhaps because of it – Silvía Nótt continued to attract media attention in Athens. Greek television stations apparently could not get enough of Silvía’s antics, repeatedly showing footage of the diva’s ‘tantrum’ after failing to make the finals, and seeking interviews with her long after she was eliminated.
Silvía Nótt is a television personality played by actress Ágústa Eva Erlendsdóttir.
