The Finnish President Sauli Niinistö and the first lady Jenni Haukio began their official tour of Iceland this morning with a reception at Bessastaðir, the Icelandic presidential residence, where they met with President of Iceland Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson and his wife Dorrit Moussaieff, mbl.is reports.

This is Niinistö’s first official visit to Iceland after being elected last year. The Finnish president will also meet with the Prime Minister and MPs and take part in a conference on Arctic issues at the University of Iceland with representatives from industry, government and science.
