FH Becomes Icelandic Champion in Men’s Football

By Iceland Review

Hafnarfjördur football club FH beat Reykjavík club Valur 2-0 yesterday in the Men’s Pepsi League and earned the Icelandic Championship League title for the second year in a row and for the fifth time in the club’s history.

“Both teams had their chances. […] We were in the lead with 2-0 and I thought we played very sensibly. What characterizes a good team is to be able to keep the ball within the team and we were very patient. It was a great day,” FH’s coach Heimir Gudjónsson told Fréttabladid.

Last month Gudjónsson renewed his contract with FH. “I have always said that I am happy to coach FH. We have fantastic players and many talented players are emerging from the younger leagues. We will continue with the good work that we’ve undertaken in the past years.”
