There will only be 7,500 tickets sold for Iceland Airwaves this year, reports Vísir. This is down from the 9,000 tickets that were sold last year.
The popular music festival is making a few other significant changes for their 2017 event. For one, the Harpa Concert Hall, located by Reykjavík harbor, will no longer be Airwaves’ primary venue. Rather, Eldborg, the venue’s largest hall, will only be used for three marquee concerts: one with Icelandic singer Ásgeir, and two with the American band Fleet Foxes. The festival’s other shows will then be split between 11 official venues around Reykjavík and three new ones in the town of Akureyri in North Iceland. Direct flights will be offered between Keflavík and Akureyri via Air Iceland Connect. There will also be fewer off-venue locations taking part this year.
Iceland Airwaves will take place from November 1 – 5, 2017.
