Fewer Earthquakes, Steady Lava Stream

Only around 40 earthquakes were measured during the night in the Bárðarbunga area and none of them were big. Most of the earthquakes are centered in the Dyngjujökull and Bárðarbunga area, according to visir.is.

Webcams show that the Holuhraun fissure is still active, but there has been no update yet on the flow of lava into Jökulsá á Fjöllum glacial river. On Sunday the lava was about halfway across the river, thus pushing it out of the riverbed.

It was also reported yesterday that scientists say that a depression which has formed in the glacier makes an eruption in Bárðarbunga more likely.
