Ferry Service to West Fjords Suspended

By Iceland Review

Ferry service to the West Fjords will be suspended while repairs are made to the Ferry Baldur, RÚV reports. The ferry’s main engine experienced a failure yesterday and repairs have been ongoing.

It remains unclear how long the process will take. An announcement on the Seatours Iceland Facebook page states the passenger boat Særún will make some trips along the route during Baldur’s absence. Travellers should note that Særún, unlike Baldur, cannot accommodate vehicles.

Travellers can check www.seatours.is for further updates.
