Reykjavík football club KR made it to the final in the Visa cup last night after defeating Breidablik from Kópavogur in the semi-finals. KR will play against Fjölnir, another Reykjavík football club, on Laugardalsvöllur stadium on October 4.
The game between KR and Breidablik last night was nerve-wracking. Neither of the two teams had scored a goal after the normal game time was over but in overtime Marel Jóhann Baldvinsson from Breidablik scored from a penalty kick, Morgunbladid reports.
Shortly afterwards Pétur Marteinsson from KR evened out the scores, ending the overtime with a tie, 1-1. A penalty shootout followed, during which KR scored four goals but Breidablik only one.
