A foreign tourist died in a traffic accident on the Ring Road in South Iceland, west of Kirkjubæjarklaustur, between 9 and 10 am this morning.
It appears as if the driver lost control of the vehicle due to the poor road conditions, resulting in the car overturning and landing outside the road.
There were two foreign tourists in the car, one of whom were pronounced dead at the scene. The other person suffered minor injuries, ruv.is.
The police were still at the scene several hours later. The investigation of the accident is in the initial stages.
