A three-year-old child died after being hit by a 4×4 in the driveway of a farm in Biskupstungur, South Iceland, Saturday afternoon, RÚV reports. Police, an ambulance and a rescue team from Flúðir were called to the scene, along with the Icelandic Coast Guard helicopter.
The child was transported by helicopter to a Reykjavík hospital where it was pronounced dead. No further information can be provided by police for the time being. The accident is being investigated by the Investigation Department of the South Iceland Police, the Forensics Department of the Greater Reykjavík Police and the Icelandic Transportation Safety Board .
