Fast and Furious Iceberg Scares Horse to Death

A flying Styrofoam replica of an iceberg, used in the filming of the eighth The Fast and the Furious movie on lake Mývatn, literally scared a horse in the area to death yesterday.

The severe gale that affected the country yesterday blew the iceberg into a fenced area where two horses were kept, mbl.is reports. The horses were so frightened by the flying object that they ran out of control into a nearby lava field where one of them broke a leg. The injury was serious enough that the horse had to be put down on the spot. The second horse is injured.

Other objects from the film set blew all over the Mývatn area. Participants of a dog sledding race narrowly escaped when parts of the film set blew close by them.
