Faroese art exhibited in Iceland

The art exhibition “Einsýna list” opened in Hafnarborg gallery in Hafnarfjördur, near Reykjavík, this week, which features the works of six painters from the Faroe Islands.

The artists include Ingálvur av Reyni (born 1920), one of the pioneers of abstract painting in the Faroe Islands and is considered one of the greatest Nordic painters of his generation. Morgunbladid reports.

Works by painters Edward Fuglö, Astri Luihn, Sigrun Gunnarsdóttir Niclasen, Torbjörn Olsen and Eydun av Reyni can also be viewed at the exhibition.

Organized under the theme “Man and Nature,” all of the artists represented were inspired by the Faroese environment and the ocean surrounding the islands.
