Icelandic design company Farmers Market recently released a new and special version of its “lava sweater,” which is hand-knitted with Icelandic wool; its design inspired by the traditional lopapeysa pattern, which is only available in a limited edition.
Farmers Market displayed its 2009-2010 autumn and winter collection during the Copenhagen Fashion Week earlier this month.
According to the company’s newsletter, its fashion items received considerable interest at the fair, after which new stores in cities like Barcelona, Berlin, Hamburg and Bologna joined its group of customers, as has Japan’s largest department store.
The special-edition lava sweater is only available in the Farmers Market store on Eyjarslód 9 in Reykjavík, where the company also offers Icelandic music and audio books for sale.
