Farmers’ Market Opens in South Iceland

By Iceland Review

A farmers’ market opened in Flúdir, south Iceland, last weekend and will be open every Saturday in summer between 11 am and 5 pm. Various farm products from the region can be bought at the market along with seafood from the Westman Islands.

The meat products that are sold at the market come straight from the farm, such as beef from Langholtskot and pork from Laxárdalur, Morgunbladid reports.

The market is operated in the Flúdir tourist center by two homemakers from the local Hrunamannahreppur district, Hanna Bjarnadóttir and Esther Gudjónsdóttir.
