The workshop will begin operations in the vocational training facilities of the high school in the latter part of next summer, Morgunbladid reports.

The workshop is meant to “give pioneers, students, the public and the employees of companies and institutions the opportunity to turn their ideas into reality by designing, forming and producing things with the aid of digital technology,” a press release said.

Fab Lab stands for Fabrication Laboratory, created by the respected MIT University in the US. Such workshops can now be found all around the US and the world, including Ghana, South Africa, Costa Rica, India, Spain and Iceland’s Westman Islands, where a Fab Lab opened in 2008.
