Icelandic director Baltasar Kormákur’s Everest is now his highest-earning movie worldwide, topping 2 Guns which earned USD 131 million (ISK 16.4 billion, EUR 115 million).
“According to the latest numbers, Everest has made USD 138 million,” Geir Gunnarsson, marketing director of distributor Myndform, told Vísir.
“The film has been the most-watched in Iceland for the past three weekends and it will be exciting to see whether it will remain on top this weekend,” Geir added.
As of Thursday, 50,700 people had seen Everest in Iceland.
