One per cent of all Icelanders living in Iceland are going to the Canary Islands for Christmas. Fréttabladid reports that 12 tours from four travel agencies are sold out. Úrval – Útsýn has four full airplanes transporting the Icelanders into the sun. Both Plúsferdir and Sumar – Ferdir also have four full planes. It has become increasingly popular to leave the stress of Christmas behind and go bask in the sunshine. Other popular Christmas destinations include Orlando, Florida and the Caribbean Islands.
