Erró Murals to Rise in Reykjavík Suburb

The board of the Reykjavík City Council yesterday approved the installation of two murals by Icelandic artist Erró in the Reykjavík suburb of Breiðholt. One of the two murals is 24 meters high and will appear on the side of an apartment block while the other will be placed on a sports center.

Reykjavík mayor Dagur B. Eggertsson said he was excited about the project and added that the idea is for Erró’s work to appear in different places around the city.

Erró donated the paintings but the installation of the murals is expected to cost ISK 38.8 million (USD 344,000, EUR 252,000).
