Entrance Fee to be Charged at Iceland’s Geysir

As of next year tourists will be charged a fee to visit Geysir geothermal area, one of Iceland’s top tourist destinations.

The area is two thirds privately owned and the rest is owned by the state.

The amount, which will apply to both foreign and local visitors, is yet to be announced. The funds generated will be used to improve the area for visitors, dv.is reports.
