An agreement between the Association of Icelandic Air Traffic Controllers and their new employer, Flugstodir ohf., was signed yesterday.
The two parties reached an agreement on the issue of pension funds, which has been a source of contention for many months. Fréttabladid reports.
It is expected that air traffic controllers will sign a permanent employment contract with Flugstodir today and thereafter resume their work. Air traffic should be under control tonight.
Minister of Transport Sturla Bödvarsson told Fréttabladid that he is content with the conclusion of the dispute. He joked that he took it as a good sign that the northern lights had been exceptionally beautiful last night.
