Employee of CCP breaks rules in EveOnline

An employee of the Icelandic company CCP, which runs the online computer game EveOnline, has been reprimanded for having participated in the game by using qualified information earlier this month.

According to mbl.is, the employee shared information with his group members that no one else was aware of. His account has now been destroyed and CCP is paying closer attention to whether their employees are playing EveOnline.

CEO of CCP Hilmar Pétursson said the man had not profited from his actions in the “real world” only in the “fantasy world.”

“People’s reaction to this violation shows how real the eve world is to the players,” Pétursson said.

Three other employees of CCP have been caught violating the company’s rules by playing EveOnline and were reprimanded or lost their jobs as a consequence.
