The Grammy Award-winning musician will be alone on the stage and people can make song requests via his website, elviscostello.com, Morgunbladid reports. Ticket sales began today at noon on harpa.is.

Meanwhile, Alaskan singer-songwriter Mariah Ver Hoef, who recently released the solo album Space Between Two Worlds, will launch her European tour in Iceland.

She will play at Merkigil in Eyrarbakki, south Iceland, tonight at 8 pm and at Rósenberg in Reykjavík at 9 pm tomorrow night.

In other music news, the Icelandic band Helgi og hljódfaeraleikararnir have released the album Nakti apinn with 20 new songs written by all band members, either solo or jointly, with lyrics by Helgi Thórsson.

The CD release concert will be held in Dalvík, north Iceland, on Friday and at the concert venue Graeni hatturinn in Akureyri the following day.

Also, Elíza Newman’s new album Pie in the Sky was released digitally on April 4. The album was given a warm welcome by critics in the UK, including a raving review in The Sunday Mail.

“Eliza has a childlike charm and a knack for sunny home-made arrangements,” The Sunday Mail wrote, according to a press release.

The album has also been played for two weeks in ‘indie spotlight’ on iTunes in the US, which is considered good promotion for musicians.

Newman, who launched her career with the Icelandic girl band Kolrassa krókrídandi, later Bellatrix, published the album with her own label, Lavaland Records.
