Elísabet Gunnarsdóttir has been hired as the assistant coach for Sweden’s Under 23 Women’s team, RÚV reports. At the same time, Elísabet will continue coaching Kristanstad DFF, the team she’s been with for the last ten years, in Sweden’s premier league.
In an interview with online outlet Expressen, Elísabet said that she had planned to leave Kristianstad last year after the team lost three games in a row. But there was a turnaround in the next game, with a 3-0 win against Limham /Bunkeflo and the team eventually placed 5th in the league. In fact, Elísabet was awarded Coach of the Year for her efforts with Kristanstad last year.
