The two-person electronic band Vök, comprised of Margrét Rán Magnúsdóttir and Andri Már Enoksson, stood up as winners of the annual Iceland Music Experiments in Harpa concert and conference center on Saturday.

A total of 39 bands had registered to the competition, which for years has proven an important breeding ground for young musicians. Never before have as many young women participated, or 21, ruv.is reports.
In the Company of Men placed second and Aragrúi third. Hulda Kristín Kolbrúnardóttir of Aragrúi was also named vocalist of the year.
Previous winners include Of Monsters and Men, who have since gone on to garner international fame.
