The man who escaped with minor incidents after crashing into a lamppost during a race with another car in Iceland’s capital region earlier this week is a well-known road hog. He is apparently 67 years old, but not 64 as earlier reported, and uses a walker.

The man has now been discharged from hospital. He was driving a Dodge Charger which was significantly damaged in the accident; he is considered lucky for not having suffered any serious injuries.
According to dv.is, the man’s dog, described by his neighbor as “a tiny little creature” was killed in the crash. The man’s walker was found in the trunk.
Fréttabladid reported that the man is much talked about on Live2Cruise, a chat forum for car enthusiasts. He is said to have repeatedly provoked other drivers to race him, giving them the finger.
