Eighty-Nine Cruise Ships Headed to Iceland

A record 89 cruise ships carrying a total of 95-98,000 passengers are booked to dock at Reykjavík harbor this summer, visir.is reports.

There has been a large increase in cruise ships to Iceland over the last decade. The size of the ships arriving at Icelandic harbors has also increased. In 2003, 50 cruise ships carrying 31,000 passengers docked at Reykjavík harbor. That number grew to 80 ships with a combined 92,000 passengers in 2013.

The first ship will arrive in Reykjavík on May 19.
