The eighth public meeting since the crisis hit was held at the University of Iceland Cinema yesterday evening. More than 1,000 people were in attendance and some of the attendees had to sit in the hallways.
The meeting addressed the situation of the Icelandic economy, the impact of the crisis, the inefficient legal framework and weak supervisory institutions, Morgunbladid and Fréttabladid report.
First speakers included Robert Wade, professor in politics and economics, economist Raffaella Tenconi, expert in administration Sigurbjörg Sigurgeirsdóttir, activist Herbert Sveinbjörnsson and managing director Finnur Oddsson.
