Ed Sheeran Suffered Burn in Hot Spring

English singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran burned his foot in a hot spring when he visited Iceland a year ago to celebrate his 25th birthday. He revealed this in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres yesterday.

“I have a lot of accidents,” he confessed, “because I’m a bit of a clumsy idiot, and we were up on top of a volcano.” There was a hot spring where he stood, “and my foot slipped in. I’ve never had the feeling of dying before,” he stated, but his thought when he fell in was, “That’s it.” Hot water went into his boot, which he took off and asked his fellow travelers to take his sock off, because it hurt so much. “And as they peeled it off, all the skin came with it.”

His advice is this, “When you have a burn, don’t take the sock off!”

The location of the accident was not mentioned in the interview, but Vísir reported last year that the singer was spotted in the Eyjafjöll area, as well as by the Blue Lagoon.

Sheeran is best known for his song ‘Thinking out Loud.’ On Facebook’s Hottest People and Topics list for 2015, he was chosen the Top Entertainer.

You can watch the interview below. Two minutes into it, he starts talking about Iceland.
