The spokespersons for the budget airline easyJet say they are pleased with the reaction to their plans to launch flights between London and Iceland’s Keflavík International Airport in the spring of 2012.

A statement issued by the airline states that in the first seven days ten percent of available seats on this route were sold, half of which were booked from Iceland, visir.is reports.
It appears that 18 airlines in total will offer flights to and from Iceland next summer. The deadline to confirm application for flights at Keflavík International Airport has not expired yet and so the final number is unclear.
