The budget airline easyJet has announced that it will launch scheduled flights between Iceland and the UK following successful sale of tickets between the two destinations this spring, which is seen as an indication of increased demand in the market.

Last November the airline’s representatives announced that they would begin scheduled flights to Iceland as of March 27, 2012, ruv.is reports.
An easyJet spokesperson explained on RÚV’s radio station Rás 2 that Iceland is seen as a unique destination, whereas British travelers have already been to places like Paris and Barcelona.
It appears there will be tough competition on the aviation market this year as four airlines will now offer direct flights between London and Keflavík all year: WOW Air, Icelandair, Iceland Express and easyJet.
