Three earthquakes in excess of magnitude 3 hit Bárðarbunga volcano this morning, according to the Icelandic Met Office. The first one, which hit at 8:58 am was the largest, or 4.1, followed by one at 9:13 am of magnitude 3.4, and a third one at 9:45 of magnitude 3.5. All three have been verified by the Met Office.
Bárðarbunga volcano is located under the ice cap of Vatnajökull glacier.
