EAB New Energy Interested in Wind Farm in Iceland

Germany-based company EAB New Energy Europe has expressed interest in cooperating with Norðurþing municipality in Northeast Iceland on establishing a wind farm in the vicinity of Húsavík, as discussed in a meeting last week.

A memorandum of understanding was submitted at the meeting, which means that the collaboration has entered a formal process. The next step is to secure land for the operation and establish test masts for further research of wind conditions in the area, 640.is reports.

The local authorities are positive towards the project and continued cooperation with EAB New Energy Europe. Further information will be sought and further meetings scheduled.
