Dutch Performers Take the Stage in Korpúlfsstadir

Dutch artistic duo Wolfskinderen, which is comprised of mimic and dancer Nathalie Smoor and scenographer Marielle Verdijk, will give a theatrical performance in the great exhibition hall of the historical building Korpúlfsstadir in Reykjavík today.

The artists first performed the theatrical piece as a work-in-progress during the Sequences art festival (October 13 to 28) last Sunday, and today’s performance will be the finalized piece entitled “The Enchanting Machine.”

The performance features an “analog pilgrimage into the [virtual] ritual,” according to a press release.

At first the artists improvised using random objects and reacting to each other, but today, their work will be taken to a level “where ‘playing around’ borders on self-consciousness,” straining the limits of entertainment.
