Police stopped a 17-year-old girl with her brand new driver’s license driving 143 km/h (89mph) opposite IKEA in Garðabær, a town just outside Reykjavík, on Wednesday night. The maximum speed there is 80 km/h (50 mph). She lost her license and had to be picked up by one of her parents, mbl.is reports.
Another person lost their driver’s license last night, and he was not even driving. He was drunk but the sixteen-year-old driver was on his L plates. As the supervising adult, he should have been sober.
