Svanhildur Konrádsdóttir, Director of Culture and Tourism for Reykjavík Complete, was chosen marketing person of the year 2005 reports Morgunbaldid. This is the first time that the Icelandic Marketing Association (ÍMARK) gives the award to a woman. Iceland Telco was chosen the marketing company of the year.
The ÍMARK awards are given to the individual and company who, in the past year, are judged to have excelled in marketing.
Ingólfur Gudmundsson, chairman of ÍMARK, said that Svanhildur’s strengths were her passion for cultural affairs and her determined focus on the market. Her career showed that she had great determination and diligence in following through with projects even though a hostile political and bureaucratic environment often stood in the way.
Reykjavík Complete is responsible for tourism, marketing and a selection of large scale events in Reykjavík. Reykjavík Complete also runs the Official Reykjavík Tourist Information Centre in Iceland.
