Direct Icelandair Flights to Aberdeen

Icelandair has announced plans to offer direct flights to Aberdeen, Scotland, beginning March next year, according to Vísir. Four flights a week will be scheduled.

Aberdeen is a port city in northeastern Scotland, the country’s third largest city behind Glasgow and Edinburgh, with a populalation of 230.000.

An announcement from Icelandair states that Air Iceland (Flugfélag Íslands) will be in charge of the flights using a Bombardier Q400 aircraft, seating 72 passengers.

The flights will depart from Keflavík Airport and passengers will be offered the same kinds of connections across the Atlantic as are offered in other scheduled Icelandair flights.

Preparation for sales and marketing has been done in cooperation with Aberdeen International Airport and the Icelandic Tourist Board (Ferðamálaráð).

Aberdeen will be Icelandair’s 26th destination in Europe in addition to 15 in North America.
