Academy Award winning US actor Denzel Washington has agreed to play the lead in the next movie by Icelandic director Baltasar Kormákur, 2 Guns. Produced by Marc Platt Productions, the film’s budget is USD 80 million (ISK 10 billion, EUR 60 million), Morgunblaðið reports.

Meanwhile, the revenue from Baltasar’s latest movie, Contraband, starring Mark Wahlberg, has reached USD 70.4 million (ISK 8.7 billion, EUR 53 million), as stated on boxoffice.com.
The production cost was USD 25 million and so the gross profits from the film has exceeded USD 45 million, visir.is reports.
One month after the premier, the film continues to be successful at American cinemas. Last weekend Contraband was the 11th most popular film in the US.
Outside the US, Contraband has enjoyed the highest turnout in Russia.
