The demonstrators demanded that Icelandic authorities do everything in their power to enforce immediate ceasefire and resolve the disputes in the country, Fréttablaðið reports.
“The world cannot and must not stand by inactively while tens of thousands of innocent children, women and men are being killed in the power struggle currently taking place in Syria,” the demonstrators’ resolution reads.
Author Jóhanna Kristjónsdóttir, who is a specialist in the affairs of the Middle East, spoke at the demonstration and the musicians Bjartmar Guðlaugsson and Rúnar Þór performed.
