Proceedings in the case against ten persons for particularly dangerous assault, unlawful coercion, deprivation of liberty and attempted blackmail at Reykjanes District Court, West Iceland, was interrupted last week when one of the defense attorneys began snoring loudly.
The trial has gone through several delays, which may be the reason for the attorney’s drowsiness. The speech of another defense attorney could hardly be heard because of the snores, mbl.is reports.
The chief judge ordered another lawyer, who also represents one of the defendants, to wake up the colleague who had fallen asleep. Afterwards the trial continued as if nothing had happened.
