Scenes from the movie “Stardust,” the Matthew Vaughn-directed adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s fantasy novel, will be filmed in Iceland, reports Morgunbladid. Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Claire Danes, Sienna Miller and Charlie Cox have all signed on to star in this Paramount project.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the story is about Tristan (Cox), who promises to acquire a falling star named Yvaine (Danes) in order to win the heart of his beloved (Miller). Pirate Captain Shakespeare (De Niro) and a nasty witch (Pfeiffer) stand in the way of the quest.
The “Stardust” team have selected Icelandic movie production company, True North, as their local partner. True North says in the next few days it will be become clear when the filming will start and which of the stars will come to Iceland.
True North worked with the crew of Clint Eastwood’s “Flags of our Father” when scenes for that movie were filmed in Iceland last year.
