Dates Confirmed for Iceland Airwaves 2008

By Iceland Review

This year’s Iceland Airwaves music festival will as usual take place in Reykjavík during the third weekend of October, October 15 to 19. Foreign bands and musicians wishing to perform have to apply through Sonicbids.

More than 200 artists have already applied through the website in the ten days that Iceland Airwaves has been open for applications. Last year, almost 1,000 foreign applications were received through the Sonicbids system in addition to hundreds of applications through agents and record labels, as stated in a Mr. Destiny press release.

Iceland Airwaves organizers would like to point out that the CMJ music festival in New York, which was held at the same time as the Reykjavík festival last year, will now be held in the fourth weekend of October. Thus music professionals, reporters and enthusiasts no longer have to choose between the two.
