Dark Music Days Celebrated in Reykjavík

The classical music festival Dark Music Days (Myrkir Músikdagar in Icelandic) was launched yesterday and runs until February 13. The festival, organized by the Icelandic Composers Union, offers an ambitious program, concerts and music workshops.

The purpose of the Dark Music Days, which has been running since 1980, is to celebrate the darkest days of the year and welcome foreign visitors who are keen on listening to new Icelandic music and study it. Workshops are held in Reykjavík and the surrounding area.
