Dairy in East Iceland Will Not Close

The board of dairy cooperative MS has decided not to drastically reduce milk production in its dairy in Egilsstadir, east Iceland, which would have cost about ten people their jobs, as announced yesterday.

Local dairy farmers and members of the Fjardarbyggd municipality had expressed their dissatisfaction with the proposed move, claiming it would have devastating consequences for the region.
